Sport Management

Program Description 

Being an all-star athlete is not the only path to a career in sports. The Sport Management major in Rockhurst University’s Exercise, Sport and Health Science department prepares students interested in working for a sports team, organization, college or university for the job of their dreams.

Students taking the Sport Management major are encouraged to pursue a minor aligned with their goals in order to enhance their professional qualifications. Nonprofit leadership studies, business, journalism and communication are among many suitable choices.

A minor in Sport Management is also available.

Experiences 

All students in the Sport Management major are required to successfully complete a full-time one-semester internship. Through 400 hours of hands-on experience in a sports management setting, students put their coursework to use, learn new skills and make professional connections to prepare them for a successful career.

Rockhurst students have completed internships at a variety of agencies, such as:
