Program Description 

As one of multiple post baccalaureate programs offered at Rockhurst University, the post baccalaureate premedical program provides future physicians with the foundational coursework, standardized test preparation and real-world experience necessary for a successful medical school application. If you have completed a baccalaureate program in any discipline, and now wish to fulfill science requirements for medical school, then the post baccalaureate premedical program at Rockhurst is for you.

Learning Outcomes 

Students in Rockhurst’s post baccalaureate premedical program will receive the quality science education and academic advising needed to pursue a career path in health sciences such as medicine, dentistry, or as a physician assistant.
Students will receive education in fundamental areas including General Biology, General Chemistry, Physics, and Organic Chemistry

Prospective Students 

Current Students 


  • Students in the post baccalaureate premedical program develop individual plans along with academic advisor and program director Dr. Laura Salem. Advising meetings take place every semester, ensuring students meet their medical school requirements.
  • Post baccalaureate premedical program students have the opportunity to shadow physicians, participate in clinical volunteering and interview with the Rockhurst Pre-health Advisory Committee to receive feedback on application materials before submitting their medical school applications


  • Successful students in the post baccalaureate premedical program will be granted a certificate of completion. A cumulative GPA of 3.3 must be maintained to continue in the program.
  • Graduates will be prepared continue their education in the healthcare industry; a high-demand, lucrative career path
