Walktober and Plein Air "Quickpaint": Walk the Rockhurst Campus

Sunday, October 3, 2021 - 10:00am to 12:00pm
Rockhurst University Campus

Stroll Rockhurst University’s park-like campus, enjoy Kansas City visual artists painting en plein air, and at noon, listen to a special outdoors pop-up Moblie Music Concert featuring a string quartet from the Kansas City Symphony. Walktober is a series of October Sunday free fall outdoor events hosted by Kansas City Parks and Recreation and Jackson County Parks and Recreation. You are invited to walk, ride or run a different trail each Sunday in October! The month of October is especially ideal for exercising outside — the temperatures are cool and the colors are spectacular. Walktober is a terrific opportunity to safely tour some of autumn’s most vibrant landscapes in the metro area and make movement a priority! View artists in action as paint of the Walktober Plein Air Quick Paint events. Commemorative Walktober buttons, designed by artist Kevin Worley, are also available for the first 200 participants at each location.

Dogs on leashes are welcome on the Rockhurst University campus. This event is free and open to the public For more information and pre-registration, visit www.kcparks.org/walktober. Free and accessible Rockhurst University parking is available in the Brown parking lot, access is from 54th and Troost, by Arrupe Hall. Please follow the signs for the check-in table.
