Biography 

Laura Fitzpatrick, Ph.D., is a professor of economics and the associate dean in the Helzberg School of Management. Fitzpatrick began her role as the associate dean in 2018 and, through her expert-level knowledge of curriculum management, has already significantly contributed to the advancement of the Helzberg School. She continues to teach economics courses with her primary focus being global courses including principles of macroeconomics, principles of microeconomics, the developing world, economics, politics and culture, political economy, economic systems of the world, and global economic issues.

Earning a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of St. Thomas, Fitzpatrick went on to obtain both her master's and Ph.D. in economics from the University of Notre Dame.

As a diverse and accomplished economics professor and scholar, Fitzpatrick has taught corporate social responsibility, global markets, cross-cultural management, social entrepreneurship and competitive analysis. Her research interests lie in economic development, pedagogy and Catholic social teaching.

Fitzpatrick's past honors include holding the Hall Chair at the Helzberg School of Management, Assessment Awards, and a Fulbright research scholarship.
