Executive Summary

The purpose of this survey is to provide the Rockhurst University community with a record of employment trends and salary data from recent graduates; August 2015, December 2015 and May 2016.  Data were collected at several points, including at the Grad Fair, along with an email six (6) months following graduation.  In addition, Rockhurst University faculty and staff provided supplemental information and data was researched on Facebook and LinkedIn.  Questions concerning this information can be directed to Mike Theobald in Career Services.

Rockhurst University graduates experienced success when applying for professional career advancement following graduation[1].  Of the 501 alumni included in the survey (N=501), 97.8% (N=490) gained employment or acceptance into graduate or professional programs within six (6) months following graduation (73.1% knowledge rate[2] of all first destination graduates).

One hundred thirty-seven (137) alumni (27.3%) entered graduate or professional programs following their graduation from Rockhurst University.  These programs included medical and law schools, along with analytics, education, engineering, MBA, OT/PT, optometry, pharmacy, public health, social work, veterinary medicine and several others.  Candidates applied to an average of 2.06 graduate/professional programs with 88% now attending their first choice.

NACE expects that all higher education institutions will assess the career and employment outcomes for their graduates through a first-destination/post-graduation survey. These surveys are designed to understand more about the employment and continuing education goals and activities of college graduates, providing important information to help inform prospective students and their families as well as the general public about post-graduation outcomes.
