Application Process for Incoming Freshmen

How to Apply to RU

  1. Submit your Application for Admission online.
  2. Send us your official ACT or SAT results (RU does not require the ACT writing test).
  3. Send us your official high school transcript. This can be sent electronically or mailed to Rockhurst University, Office of Admission, 1100 Rockhurst Road, Kansas City, MO 64110.
  4. Provide us with a counselor recommendation (Optional). Ask your high school counselor to complete this form.

    *Because the Rockhurst University mission and values encourage the pursuit of academic inquiry, service and social justice, applicants and admitted students will not be penalized as the result of any disciplinary action by their high school resulting from lawful, peaceful protests organized to make a stand regarding critical societal issues.

Our Admission Timeline
Here’s a quick guide to reference as you complete high school and prepare for life as a Hawk.

Spring/Summer Before Your Senior Year

  • Take ACT or SAT
  • Start narrowing down your list of colleges you’d like to apply to
  • Applications for the following fall go live in July
     

Fall Semester of Senior Year

  • Visit the Rockhurst campus and get to know Kansas City
  • Attend college fairs
  • Re-take the ACT or SAT
  • Submit your application to Rockhurst if you haven't yet
     

Spring Semester of Senior Year

  • Complete your FAFSA and be sure to send it to RU (priority deadline is February 1)
  • Select Breen and McCabe scholarship awardees are invited to attend Competitive Scholars Days which takes place in late January/early February (invitations sent closer to the event)
  • Apply for supplemental Rockhurst talent and interest scholarships (typically due mid-February)
  • Sign up for Admitted Student Day which takes place in mid-February (invitations sent to all admits closer to the event date)
  • Enrollment Deposit due date is May 1 (National College Candidate Reply Date)
  • Advance class registrations for fall begin in late April and take place in Omaha, St. Louis and on-campus in Kansas City
  • Housing intent forms and applications for fall become available after January 1
