Purchase a Meal Plan

Change My Meal Plan

You may add flex dollars or upgrade your meal plan after the third Friday of the semester. Flex dollars may be added in increments of $25.

Meal Plan Options for the 2017-2018 School Year
All meal plans are tax-free.

Residence Hall Students
Our flexible meal plans offer students convenience and variety.  Students living in the residence halls are required to choose between a five-day meal plan or a seven-day meal plan.  All plans include unlimited access to the all-you-care-to-eat Thomas More Dining Hall. Students select a flex dollar amount with their meal plan. Flex dollars only carry over from fall to spring semesters and can be used at any dining location, concession or vending.

On Campus Houses, Townhouse Village, Faculty and Staff
Students living in On Campus Houses (OCH), Townhouse Village (THV) or Rockhurst Row may choose between two meal plan options: 60 blocks with 500 flex dollars or 30 blocks with 250 flex dollars. These options are also available for faculty and staff.

60 Blocks + 500 Flex Dollars – 60 meals at our all-you-care-to eat dining hall plus 500 flex dollars to be used at any on-campus dining location, concession or vending for $930 per semester.

30 Blocks + 250 Flex Dollars – 30 meals at our all-you-care-to-eat dining hall plus 250 flex dollars to be used at any on-campus dining location, concession or vending for $470 per semester.

Housing and Semester Breaks
Limited food service is available for students staying on campus during semester breaks. Dining Services will notify students about locations and times of operation prior to breaks. Hawk dollars, debit cards, credit cards and cash are accepted during breaks. Residence halls are open during fall break, Thanksgiving break and Easter break.

Cancellations and Refunds

Prorated refunds for the current semester's meal plan (less a $150 service charge) will be offered when a student meets one of the following conditions:

  • Enrollment withdrawal
  • Move from residence hall assignment to THV, OCH or Rockhurst Row
  • Complete withdrawal from the residence life system

Meal plans cannot be downgraded after the first week of school but can be upgraded. The meal refund schedule matches the university's academic refund schedule. Please consult the course catalog for the full refund schedules. No refunds will be made after the fourth week of classes.

Hawk Dollars
If you do not want to purchase a meal plan from the above options, you can purchase Hawk dollars through the Dining Services website or at the Thomas Moore Dining Hall. Hawk dollars remain on your card until you leave the university, and are subject to a 10.35 percent tax.
