Rockhurst Theater Department Presents "Our Country's Good"

Thursday, April 6, 2017 - 7:30pm
Mabee Theater, Sedgwick Hall
Entrance to Sedgwick Hall and Mabee Theater

What is the result of Fine Arts Education after all?  When the English settled criminals in Australia, they had no plan for discipline or daily life for either the soldiers or their charges. Come see how they solved the problem and give a cheer for good old theatre.

Our Country’s Good by Timberlake Wertenbaker will propose an answer. The play is based on the book The Playmaker by Thomas Keneally, which chronicles a true story of settlement and relationships.

Tickets, sold at the door, are $10 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens. RU students may attend for free with their school ID. Additional presentations will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 7 and at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 8, and Sunday, April 9.

Parking is available in the north parking garage (52nd St. and Troost Ave.) and in lots accessed through the campus entrance (54th and Troost Ave., Rockhurst.edu/map).
